Knee and elbow pads

Knee and elbow pads, developed to protect user's knees and elbows, are the most neglected parts in the ballistic protection set market. They may provide protection against shrapnel or injury, or violent individuals, or simply to maintain the user's comfort while leaning on elbows or knees for a prolonged ammount of time. Knee and elbow pads need to be comfortable and durable while not compromising the user's protection.

This product's development was divided into two separate areas: mechanical performace (protection) and comfort. Its design will be based on biomimetics concepts. As an example, the turtle's shell possesses a concave shape with high resistance; another example of adaptability and flexibility is the Hairy Armadillo, a mammal of the Cingulata order and the Dasypodidae family known for having flexible and adaptable "armour" which covers its body, adjusting to its needs in terms of movement.
