Composite Materials

Composite materials are formed by the stacking of several sheets of high mechanical performance fibrous materials. These high performance materials were designed to absorb the energy generated by the projectile impact, and to be durable and resistant to both high and low speed impact.

For these advanced composite structure's development the techniques used are vacuum infusion and hot compression molding. These technologies allow, on one hand, the reproducibility of the developed structures and on the other hand the reduction of the probability of imperfections.

These structures will be used in the design of the helmet, the vest's ballistic protection and the knee and elbow pads' impact protection.
