The Azores Islands and the United States of America were the chosen spots by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, for this year’s celebrations of Day of Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities.
At Ponta Delgada, the AuxDefense consortium was one of the entities present in the “Portuguese Army Clothing and Charging Systems” exhibition which was attended by the President of the Portuguese Republic, the Portuguese Defense Minister, Azeredo Lopes, and the Portuguese Army Chief, General Rovisco Duarte.
On the spotlight were the military protection equipment (helmet and bulletproof vest, knee and elbow pads) developed by AuxDefense, in a consortium that associates the University of Minho through the International Platform Fibrenamics, the Portuguese Army and the Portuguese Air Force with five other Portuguese companies from the north region: Fibrauto, IDT Consulting, Latino Group, LMA and Sciencentris.
The demonstration made by Professor Raul Fangueiro, Fibrenamics Platform coordinator, has aroused great interest and the President Marcelo took the opportunity to test the equipment.
